Yvonne Marie Cordova

Yvonne Marie Cordova, 31, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011 in her home in El Paso, Texas with loved ones close. She was born June 22, 1979 in Lubbock, Texas. Yvonne spent her childhood growing up in Lompoc, California spending her time riding horses until she moved to El Paso at the age of 13. Yvonne married her Prince Charming on May 23, 2003. Together they raised their two beautiful children. Overlooking her own struggles, Yvonne wanted to aid others in sickness and pain and became a nurse. She worked at Doña Ana Correctional Facility to help those many overlook. Yvonne was a tremendously strong and caring woman who touched many. She was much loved and will be missed beyond words. She is survived by her husband Carlos Alberto Cordova; son Juan Oscar Cordova; daughter Alexis Jade Cordova; mother Dorothy Jane Chambers; grandmother Dorothy Jane Christmas; sisters Jenny VanLandingham, Holly Renee Chambers, Crystal Ann Chavez; and many extended family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home – West. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 11:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home – West. Interment to follow at Memorial Pines Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved sister in law, Hilda Melendez and nephew, Mathias Melendez.
