Ysidoro (Chilo) Martinez Jr., age 82, of El Paso, Texas passed away on 26th day of April 2022. He was a proud graduate of Bowie High School and proudly served for 24 years in the United States Army retiring as a Sergeant First Class. He successfully completed 2 tours in Vietnam, 1 tour in Korea and 1 tour in Panama. Chilo was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Norma Martinez, his sister Mary Gonzalez, daughters Carmen Reynoso and Elizabeth Yañez, 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Chilo was preceded in death by both parents, 3 siblings and 2 daughters.
Chilo was a great listener, and he was quick to get to the crux of a conversation by asking “And your point is?”. He will be sorely missed by his wife Norma whom he loved dearly, his family and all those who knew him.
Visitation will be from 9:00am to 11:30am with a Rosary at 10:30am on Thursday, May 05, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00pm on Thursday, May 05, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2709 Alabama. Committal service to follow at 1:30pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery (East Shelter). Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
