On June 29, 2021, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Yolanda Y. Silva passed away at the age of 81. She was born on June 25, 1940, In El Paso, Texas.
Yolanda was a graduate of Bowie High School and attended Texas Western College. She worked at Chase bank formerly El Paso National Bank for 33 years and would later spend much of her retirement traveling to visit her beloved grandsons.
Yolanda was a true angel on earth. Her smile was as brilliant as her heart, and her laugh resonated like her love. Family was her first priority, making sure that everyone felt loved. She organized many family gatherings including holiday dinners and reunions. She was known for her customized cakes, and would make so many pies for Thanksgiving, they would cover the entire dining room table. She mentored many young employees at the bank often giving them their first job and encouraging them to continue their education.
Yolanda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Francisco Silva, daughters Noemi Y. Vargas, Magda Y. Silva, Yolanda Silva, Armida Merritt (Paul), grandsons Adam, Matthew, Zachary, and her siblings Magdalena Gonzalez, and Jerry Trujillo (Magdalena).

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Friday, July 9, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be at 8:30 AM, Saturday, July 10, 2021 at All Saints Catholic Church, 1415 Dakota. Interment will follow at 10:00 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to El Paso Fighting Hunger Food Bank.
