Yolanda Oliver

Yolanda M. Oliver, 88, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 while surrounded by the family she created through her strength, love and selflessness. Her family silently prayed and bid their farewells, but they filled the silence with the sounds of Lou Rawls, You’ll Never Find Another Love. One week, to the day, before Yolanda’s passing, she had a song stuck in her head but couldn’t remember the name. As the family tried to help her, she began humming. Determined, someone took out their phone then someone else began humming along, adding a few words here and there till they had enough to find it. Even though that song may have been meant for someone else, it truly felt relevant to us as well. Everything about you will be missed but we all carry you inside our hearts and souls always. Yolanda was born in El Paso, TX on November 13, 1935 and is preceded in death by her two sons, Jesus “Pott” Oliver, Samuel Oliver and survived by her brothers Ricardo Cano (Lydia), Lawrence Cano (Martha), her daughters Rose O. Beltran (Ruben), Yolanda Oliver, Teresa O. Tango (Abraham), Esther O. Mendoza (Tony), and Glory O. Natividad (Patrick), 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Carlos Barragan, Billy Barragan, Jennifer Williams, Stephanie Mendoza, Ruben S. Beltran, Sergio A. Hernandez, Zachary Macias and Alex Macias. Honorary pallbearers Ricardo Cano and Gilbert Oliver.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM with Rosary at 6:00 PM, Thursday April 11, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes – East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday April 12, 2024 at St. Paul Catholic Church 7424 Mimosa. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
