Yolanda Chavira passed away on April 19, 2016 in El Paso, TX. She was born on January 31, 1947 in El Paso, TX to Martina De La Cruz and Joaquin Lopez. She was married to Roberto Chavira for 49 years.
Yolanda attended Jefferson High School and excelled in academics with a love of writing. She was a talented singer, poet, chef, and highly acclaimed "domestic Goddess." Her profound love of music and dancing resonated throughout her daily endeavors. Her wit, humor and sarcasm touched the lives of all that were near to her. Always the life of the party, Yolanda's vigor for life was infectious. She was selfless in all that she did and her kindness was bountiful and endless.
Yolanda enjoyed walking each day and her larger than life smile filled the room each time she won a lottery scratch ticket. Always the perfectionist, her meticulous nature was evident in her home and all that she did. Yolanda was the greatest wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. To know her was to love her and will always remain irreplaceable.
Yolanda is survived by her husband Roberto Chavira, son Humberto Chavira, daughters Veronica Franco and Melissa Chavira De La Vega, daughters in law Teri Chavira, Irene Rodriguez, son in law Gerardo De La Vega, five grandchildren Gilbert, Clarissa, Marissa, Elissa, Enissa and Sofia, mother "Charlie" and siblings Lola, Jesse, Hector, Oscar, Cesar and Juan.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at San Felipe de Jesus Catholic Church, 401 Passmore Rd. Interment will be Private.
