Yoli, was born in El Paso Texas on December 01, 1939. She grew up in the Second Ward (Segundo Barrio), worked at Providence Memorial Hospital in her early years then retired from the El Paso State Center. She was a wonderful mother to 4 children and 2 step children. Her children will always remember her as the heart of the Thomas Manor neighborhood. It was a home where the neighbors always came over for coffee and the children played outside in the yard. She had a compassionate ear to everyone’s problems and offered wonderful advice. Although times were hard, the home always had something to eat for everyone. The house always smelled like freshly made tortillas in the morning and had a delicious tummy filling meal by early evening. She welcomed everyone with an open heart. Her daily phone calls and tenderness will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Rosendo Rivera and Carolina Rivera and her second husband Franklin Barbara.
She is survived by daughters, Isis Hernandez (Victor), and Sandra Cardenas, sons, Joey Cardenas (Lena), and Gilbert Cardenas, step daughters, Sylvia Reynosa and Sonia Reynosa. She is also survived by her grandchildren Iris and Hope Hernandez, Sasha Cruzata, Levi Cardenas, Isaac Cardenas, Marlene Bonestele, Krissie Delgado, Kesiah Cardenas, Karyn Cardenas, and great grandchildren, Landon and Liam Cruzata, Zali and Zoe Cardenas, Levi Cardenas Jr.
