Willie Wallace Battle

Willie Wallace Battle, 80, passed away on August 12, 2018 in El Paso, TX. He was born on December 23, 1937 in Nashville, NC to Wallace D. Battle and Nannie E. Cherry who preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Cruz Araiza Battle; son, Willie M. Battle; daughters, Mary A. Ortiz-Battle and Julie Anne Beardslee; brother, Ricky A. Battle and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Wallace L. Battle. Willie was a very loving and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed. He proudly served the U.S. Army for over 21 years. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00pm on Friday, August 17, 2018 at McCombs Baptist Church, 10601 McCombs. Committal Service will follow at 1:30pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave., with Full Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
