William Stanley Sobities

William Stanley Sobities went to his reward in heaven on May 26, 2011. He was born on March 8, 1928 in Minersville, PA, the oldest of 5 children, with a Polish and Ukraine heritage. In New Mexico he married Jessie Dora Moore. 20 years in the Army took them to Nevada, Pennsylvania, Germany, Okinawa and Korea. Bill worked for the Texas Highway Department for 20 years. Faith in God is the center of Bill’s life. He was committed to the Lord’s church and worked at Chaparral Church of Christ for 35 years. Bill was a gentle man, loyal to his country and faithful to his family. He was a hard worker and very patient. Bill’s hobby was wood working. Bill is survived by his sisters: Violet Labella of PA and Mary Levitsky of PA; brother, Andrew Sobities of PA, wife of 62 years, Jessie Sobities; daughter, Violet Mansur and her husband, Wayne of Wichita Falls, TX; son, Danny Sobities and his wife, Kathryn Thomas Sobities of Rowlett, TX; and three grandchildren: Jennifer Sobities, Andrew Sobities and Shawn Mansur. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Monday, May 30, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 12:30pm, Tuesday, may 31, 2011at Sunset Funeral Home on 4631 Hondo Pass. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
