Tommy McNutt, 81, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at his home from complications resulting from a fall earlier this past summer. A life-long resident of El Paso, Texas, Tommy was born on October 5, 1939. He is survived by son Lee Jackson McNutt of Las Vegas, NV and daughter Shannon Sue Bruno and husband Gregg; grandson Steven Taft and great grandson Ebin Taft, also of Las Vegas, NV. Parents were Jack and Elizabeth McNutt of Ysleta, Texas; Grandparents were William Thomas and Vera Ann Duncan of Ysleta in the lower valley; sister, Molly Jameson of Norman, Oklahoma, nephew Luke Jameson of Silt, Colorado; niece Marylee Lajoie and husband Paul of Garland, Texas; 4 great nephews and one great niece. Brother, John Duncan McNutt and wife KK of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; niece Peyton McNutt and wife Elizabeth Healy and their son Whit, Chappaqua, New York. After graduating from Ysleta High School in 1958, where he played football and ran track, Tommy was employed with El Paso Natural Gas Company for a few years until he joined the Air Force, where he served a four year tour of duty in Spain. Upon his return to El Paso, he began employment with Mountain Bell Telephone and married JoAnn Riley in 1966. He continued employment with the phone company which later became Southwestern Bell, until he retired after 30 years of service. Tommy was an avid golfer his entire adult life and was forever chasing that “elusive” par golf game. Tommy lived life to the fullest but always “Did It His Way.” Visitation, Honors, and Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-West, 480 N.
