William P. Harvey

William Paul (Will) Harvey passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 1st. He was born on March 12, 1948 to Paul and the late Sallie Ruth Harvey. He was a member of the first graduating class of the then new Coronado High School, attended Trinity University, and graduated from Southern Methodist University, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. Will was president of Harvey Development Company, past-president of the El Paso Association of Builders, past-president of the Texas Self Storage Association, Builder of the Year of the El Paso Association of Builders in 1995, served three terms as president of the El Paso Apartment Association, and was an integral part of numerous other professional and civic organizations. Will was a loving father to his son William Schuyler (Will) and daughter Katharine Francis (Kay), a wonderful son to his father Paul Harvey, Jr., and a loyal brother to his sister Sallie-White. A devoted member of the Church of St. Clement, Will’s strong faith was an inspiration to those around him. He was an avid traveler, and an aspiring photographer. Will also adored dogs, especially his, Maddy and Razzle. Will is survived by his father Paul Harvey, Jr.; His son William Schuyler Harvey, his wife Lauren, and their son Schuyler Charles Harvey; Daughter Katharine Francis Gray and her husband Kupper; sister Sallie-White Broaddus, her husband John, and their children Sassie and Paul Broaddus; Uncle and Aunt, Bill and Jane Rogers; Cousins Charles w. Mattox (Emily), Jane Peyton Rogers, and Joe Lake Rogers (Leslie). A Memorial Service will be held at The Church of St. Clement on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with The Rev. Bill Cobb and The Rev. Bill Francis officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the Church of St. Clement (810 North Campbell, El Paso, Texas 79902), The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center (P.O. Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210), or your favorite charity. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
