William (Bill) Gilbert Baker Jr., 81, entered into eternal rest on February 4th, 2025, in El Paso, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maria Luisa Alvarez and William Gilbert Baker Sr., along with his grandson, Erik Baker.
Bill was born December 6th, 1943, in Long Beach, California. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and he served as a radioman on board the USS Andrew Jackson and USS Compass Island. Over the years, he resided in El Paso, and worked as a machinist at his father’s gas station and as an electrical technician and supervisor for Helicrafters, Jetco, Indiana General and Magnetek.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Martha, Sons: Gilbert, Brian and Steven, Grandchildren: Michael, Andrew, Ryan, Alex, Brian Matthew, Gabriella and Victoria and Great Grandchild Connor, to honor and cherish his memory forever.
William was a loving husband, dedicated father and nurturing grandfather; he was very loved and will be dearly missed.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr., El Paso, TX 79907. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Our Lady of the Valley Church, 8600 Winchester Rd, El Paso, TX 79907. A Graveside will then follow at 11:30 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, TX 79907.
