Willard Lee Maxwell, 82, left us on Thursday, January 29, 2009 after a short illness. He was a remarkable man, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be sorely missed. We shall remember his great sense of humor, love of country, and his unconditional love and support of us all. He was retired from the US Army, where he proudly served during World War II and the Korean War. After retiring from the Army, he continued his service to his country for another twenty years with Raytheon Service Company. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Merle Arlene Maxwell last year. He is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Maxwell, of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Frances Maxwell, of McConnellsville, Ohio. Four children, Debra Field (Mark) of St Peters, Missouri, James Maxwell (Gayle)of Queen Creek, Arizona, Naomi Taylor of Allen, Texas, and Rebecca Maxwell of El Paso. Seven grandchildren, Jennifer Gutierrez (Ernesto), Joy Field, Michael Robbins, Christina Maxwell, Aren Taylor, Lauren Taylor, Kaitlyn Maxwell. Two great-grandchildren, Alex Gutierrez and Sebastian Field. Committal Service at 10:30 am, Monday, February 2, 2009 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
