Wanda J. Boaz

Wanda Boaz,88, born in Huffman, Texas on August 10, 1923 to David and Georgia Smith, was one of five children; her sisters: Esther,Virginia, Shirley; and her brother, David Jr. She is a graduate of Mexia High School and attended Sam Houston State Teachers College. She is a veteran of the Woman's Air Corps, where she was stationed at Selfridge Field, Michigan. She married Phillip Boaz January 14, 1945 and raised three children: Billy Joe, Larry, and Stephen. She had seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Daughters of the American Revolution, Austin's Old Three Hundred, the Magna Carta, El Paso Art Association, and First Baptist Church of El Paso. She retired as a clerk from El Paso Public Schools. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 1:00- 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 8, 2012 with a Memorial Service to begin at 2:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass in El Paso, TX. Interment will be private at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Funeral Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
