Virginia “Pinkie” Warren of Las Cruces, New Mexico, died peacefully on September 13, 2012. Pinkie, age 89, spent her final days at the Regency Assisted Living Center in El Paso, Texas, and received loving care from the Regency staff as well as Hospice of El Paso. Pinkie retired from the Las Cruces school system in 1989 where she served as a school nurse and as an administrator. Pinkie was a great supporter of the Las Cruces community and served in many charitable organizations. She was a past president of The Rotary Club of Las Cruces. She was a friend of NMSU and loved singing in Master Works. She is preceded in death by her parents J. Earl and Mosselle McIntosh of Las Cruces, her husband, Andrew Warren of Las Cruces, and her Granddaughter, Kelli Lynn Bates of El Paso, Texas. Pinkie is survived by her daughter, Tookie (Frank) Bates of Santa Teresa, NM, and her sister, Millie Morgan. She is also survived by two grandsons; Michael (Leslie) Bates and Jason (Stephanie) Bates, and three great grandchildren; Grayer, Mason and Sadie. Pinkie’s greatest joys came from singing, working in her garden and visiting with her friends and family. At her request, no services will be held.
