Virginia Vondran, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 13, 2023, in El Paso, Texas. She was born on May 24, 1933, in Shannon, Mississippi to Olen and Etta Moseley.
Virginia married her high school sweetheart, Wayne Vondran in 1951. Wayne had joined the Air Force and after a short stay in Dallas they moved to El Paso, Texas. She was a devoted Christian and a member of First Assembly of God Church where she was a leader, and taught Sunday School to children for many years. She worked at White Sands Missile Range from 1961 until her retirement in 1991. She devoted her life to God and her family and loved to spend her spare time in her garden.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, her son, Gary, and three infant children, Myrna, Michael, and Ronnie. She leaves behind a sister, Rachael Ashmore of Memphis, Tennessee, and two daughters, Rhonda Fiscus (Michael) of Highland Village, Texas, and Brenda Stroud (Terry) of El Paso. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
The family invites you to join them for the services being held in her memory. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 18th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Sunset Funeral Homes – Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass, El Paso, Texas. The graveside service will begin on Wednesday, July 19th at 1:30 pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
