Viginia Claire McCabe

June 26, 1928 — February 21, 2012

Virginia Claire McCabe, 83, was born June 26, 1928 in Belleville, Kansas and was called to the Lord on February 21, 2012. In the 1950s she moved to El Paso. She worked at several Fort Bliss departments, last being the main post library where she was presented the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service upon retirement as a library technician in 1994. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and St. Pius X Church for many years. She was predeceased by parents Aloys James Kesl and Oma Folkner Kesl. Virginia is survived by daughter, Kelly Higgins, son-in-law Ronald Higgins, and grandson, Lance Higgins. The family would like to acknowledge a few of the wonderful people in Virginia’s life, the first being Dr. Lam and his staff for many years of caring. Special thanks to Jessie Rubio, who was not only a caregiver, but also a friend. Thank you to all the friends and staff at Chai Manor where she had made her home the past seven and half years. A debt of gratitude goes to the staff at El Paso Long Term Acute Care for making her final days as comfortable as possible. Visitation will be Thursday, February 23rd, 5 – 9PM, Rosary at 7PM at Sunset Funeral West on Resler, Funeral Mass 9:30 AM Friday, February 24th at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Interment at Mt.
