Vicky passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 10, 2023, at 92 years old. Vicky was born January 20, 1931 and was a life-long resident of El Paso, Texas.
Vicky was simply a thoughtful, wonderful and amazing woman. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Vicky was a 1949 graduate of Bowie H. S. and a founding member of the Bowie H. S. 49ers. Vicky had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need. She had a special gift and love for all animals, especially cats.
She was an amazing cook with a very charismatic sense of humor, captivating the hearts of everyone who met her. Vicky loved music and was an exceptional and passionate dancer; igniting a special chemistry on the dance floor that would inspire others.
Vicky was preceded in death by her husband Joe, and is survived by daughter Rita Rubio (Jerry), sons Richard (Martha), Jaime (Holly) and Daniel Gomez. Grandchildren Natalie, Adelina, Benjamin, Teresa, Florlinda, Monica, Ricardo, Gabriel, Vincent, Marina, Gabriella, Jaime Jr., 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 PM, Thursday, November 30, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:45 AM, Friday, December 1, 2023 at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 401 S. Park St. Interment will follow at 11:00 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal support charity of your choice.
