Tata was a generous person who succeeded in anything he started. He attended only up to the 3rd grade in elementary school but was smart and determined to succeed. Tata started working at a very young age and was always eager to learn something new. In the course of his life and, with the help of his wife Gloria, Tata owned his business transporting construction materials. He was also very proud of his ranch, Nuevo Rancho Alegre, that he started from the ground up. Tata raised cattle and horses and always enjoyed having family and friends visit the ranch to experience ranch life and especially ranch work. In 1984 tired of the busy life, Tata decided to take a break and sold his business and ranch. He started working in the Old El Paso Canery after getting his residency in 1986 and he continued there until his retirement.
Tata was preceded in death by his father Victor Solis Marrero, his beloved mother Isidra Esparza, his wife and love of his life Gloria Estela Solis, and his dear daughter Gloria Luz Gomez.
He is survived by his brother Miguel Solis, sister Rosa Estrada, partner Maria Carrejo and her two sons Francisco Carrejo and Eduardo Carrejo. Daughter Isidra Solis Molina and son-in-law Jose Enrique Molina Grandaughters Cynthia Molina, Jennifer and Anthony Avila (spouse), Crystal and Nicholas Kidd (spouse), Ashley and Ricardo Diaz (spouse). Son-in-law Alonso Gomez, grandsons Victor Alonso Gomez, Julio Gomez, Omar Gomez, Antonio Gomez. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many nephews and neices.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, 9521 North Loop Drive. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9205 North Loop Drive. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- Americas.
