VICTOR R. MUNOZ, 69, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. He was born in El Paso, Texas on February 26, 1949. Victor grew up in Sunset Heights with his beloved parents and many siblings. He graduated from El Paso Technical High School (Class of 67), where he excelled in baseball and made all District. His love of sports and serving in the US Army disciplined and contributed to the wonderful and loving man he was. While in basic training at Fort Bliss he was awarded with the highest score on the Physical Combat Proficiency Test for Company C and was very proud of this accomplishment. Victor was the proud owner of Crossroads Printing & Graphics. He was preceded in death by his parents Francisca and Leo Munoz, his sister Mary Lozano, his sister-in-law Socorro and brother-in-law Rudy. He is survived by his loving wife Rebecca Munoz, his children: Victor Munoz Jr., Julia Gonzalez, his grandchildren, Victor Munoz III, Selina Munoz and Ariana Flores. He is also survived by his brothers Roberto (Nena), Jose, Leo Jr. (Helen), Hector (Julie), and his sisters: Maria (Pete), Lupe (Richard), and Suki. He also leaves behind many cousins, nephews and nieces. Victor loved his family and friends and was always there with an open heart and arms for whatever you needed. He was an avid sports fan always cheering on his Dodgers, Lakers and Dallas Cowboys. Victor was loved by his family and will be deeply missed. He will always be remembered as “El Vato de Sunset”. His most memorable saying was “Si Se Puede!”-Cesar Chavez. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM, with Holy Rosary at 7:00PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 104 Fewell St. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be: Victor Munoz Jr., Rudy Murga, Bobby Valtierra, Mike Anaya, Hector Munoz and Andy Tarin. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Leo Munoz, Jose Gallegos, Robert Rodriguez and Victor Munoz III. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 1:00PM, with Military Honors.
