Vernon P. Johndro,

Vernon P. Johndro Jr. born June 13, 1958 was called by the Lord on April 6, 2013. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is preceded in death by his brother Scott and his father Vernon Sr. He is survived by his wife Anita; children Christiana (Greg) Daily, Melissa, Bryan, Jennifer Hitchcock and Sean Hitchcock. His grandchildren Aimee, Shawn, and soon to arrive Jaeden. His mother Sandra Johndro and his sisters Darlene and Stephanie. Vern took pride and joy working for the U.S. Border Patrol. He was a loyal E.P. Rhino Hockey booster and fan and El Paso’s #1 New England Patriots fan. Many looked up to him and were inspired by what an amazing husband he was to his wife. Vern always put others before himself and made it a priority to make others around him smile and laugh. He had such an irreplaceable sense of humor that will be greatly missed. Viewing will be Thursday April 11 at Sunset Funeral Home West from 5-9 with a rosary at 7. Services will be Friday April 12 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral starting at 9:30 followed by a burial at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
