Velia Hernandez Garcia

Velia Hernandez Garcia, beloved wife, mother and grandmother left us to be with our Lord Monday, February 13, 2017. Velia born November 3, 1933 in El Paso, was preceded in death by son Lorenzo Garcia Jr. Velia is survived by husband Lorenzo Garcia Sr., 12 children, Maria (Saul), Jesus, Tony (Janet), Armando, Jose (Angela), Danny (Martha), Frank (Frances), Irma (Ramiro), Bertha (Mario), Robert, Mark, Manny (Jennifer), 32+ grandchildren, 20+ great grandchildren, six sisters and four brothers. Velia was full of life and happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. We will be celebrating her life Friday, February 17, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home East from 4:00-9:00 pm. The Broken Chain We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly. In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always in our hearts. Our family is broken and nothing seems the same, but when God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
