Tomas V. Huerta

Tomas V. Huerta, 77, was born on December 29, 1934 in Terlingua, Texas. After battling cancer for nearly two years he went home December 5, 2012. He was a route foreman for the City of El Paso retiring after 31 years. He also worked for YISD at Bel Air High School as a custodian for 7 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Herlinda G. Huerta, daughters; Aurora Castaneda, Elvira Ortega, Berta Alicia Martinez, sons; Tomas Huerta Jr., David Huerta, sisters; Eduarda Zavala and Sylvia De La Cruz, 27 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. Tomas was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Sr. and Teodora Huerta and his daughters, Marta Samaniego and Yolanda Castaneda. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm with a vigil at 7 pm on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, at 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be at 9 am Saturday, December 15, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 7424 Mimosa. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
