No one loved life more than Thomas (Tommy) Howard Smith Jr, with broken hearts his family regretfully informs you of his passing on June 25, 2023. Tommy is survived by Thomas Howard Smith Sr (father), Mary Ann Smith (mother), Leah Ann Smith (sister), Abraham Parra (brother in-law), Mazzy Parra-Smith (niece), Julian Parra-Smith (nephew), Leslie Buchanan (sister), and Pamela Wonson (sister in-law).

Tommy was a retired Coast Guard veteran, who went to Parkland High School and graduated 1998. He lived with his parents in Chaparral NM. Tommy was a kind and gentle person with an infectious laugh. Despite his ongoing struggle with his disabilities, he filled our hearts with love and taught us to see the beauty in life. Tommy adored his niece and nephew and dedicated much of his life to enriching theirs. Tommy’s hobbies included programming, drawing, writing short stories, and learning Spanish.

Tommy was the type of person you could always count on, there was no task too large. Without hesitation he would give you his last dime. His selflessness often extended to strangers. There are no words which are adequate to express our sense of loss, but we take comfort knowing that he may rest in the arms of our lord Jesus Christ. May God bless his soul.

 Visitation will take place at 10:00 AM with Funeral Service at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass.
