Thomas Luz Faulkenberry passed in his home on June 28, 2022 in El Paso, TX after a long battle with illness. He was born January 14, 1959 in Pecos, TX. Thomas and his family moved to El Paso in 1966 where he lived out the rest of his days. He graduated from Riverside in 1977 where he played trumpet in band and excelled in ROTC, which would lead to his Military Police career in the United States Army. After his years in the service, he returned to El Paso where he met his wife Kellie while working as a private security guard. Later he would follow in his father's footsteps as an over the road driver with TNM&O Coaches and Covenant Transport. Thomas also served for a time as President of his local AFL-CIO chapter. He would retire from TNM&O after an injury incurred while saving a bus of passengers. Ever the HAM Radio enthusiast, Thomas was a regular at the WSE5 Radio Club on Cotton, where he facilitated testing and moderated local repeaters as long as his health would allow. After a long battle with heart disease and bladder cancer, Thomas passed at home in his recliner peacefully. He is survived by his wife Kellie, and two children, Jay and Bonnie (Ben.) Two grandchildren Cyrus and Penny. His brother Glen and his wife Ruthie, nieces Nickie, Alanna, and Caiti (Ben) Walker, and great nephew Walter. He is preceded in death by his parents HD and Lucille and his brother Robert.
Gathering of Remembrance will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Military Honors at 5:00 PM and a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM, Monday, July 18, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina.
