Thomas William Barrett

Thomas W. (Bill) Barrett. CW4. December 13, 1937 – May 8, 2010. Born in Londonderry Township, Gurnsey County, Ohio. Bill served 23 years in the United States Army and retired at Ft. Bliss, Texas in 1979. Bill was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8550 where he held numerous offices including two terms as Post Commander, Life Member Military Order of Cooties Pup Tent 75 where he also held several offices including one term as Seam Squirrel, and a member of the American Legion Post 58. Bill is survived by his wife Marlene Barrett, brothers: Fred Barrett, George Barrett, sister, Margaret Marlatt; sons: Dawson Barrett, Darren Barrett, Drew Barrett; daughter: Doreen Barrett; stepsons: Jerry Crandall, Thomas Crandall, James Crandall, Jack Crandall; daughter-in-laws: Missy Barrett, Yunhee Barrett, Jeanette Crandall, Judy Crandall, Roxanna Crandall; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill lived every day with love for his family, God, and country in his heart. Visitation from 5:00-9:00 pm, Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Funeral Service: 1:30 pm, Friday, May 14, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
