Teresa Inez Windell

TERESA INEZ WINDELL, 55, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2011 following a long illness. Teresa was born in Hobbs , NM on April 6, 1956 . She was preceded in death by two sisters, Corena Pena and Irene Pena. She is survived by her greatly loved and loving husband of 38 years, David Allen Windell; two devoted sons: David Windell of Dallas, Texas and Daniel Windell of Austin, Texas; daughter-in-law, Joy Windell of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren: Seth Allen Windell and Taryn Renee Windell of Austin, Texas; sister, Avelina DeLeon and brother-in-law Andy DeLeon of Dallas, Texas; brother, Alberto Pena of Carrollton, Texas; brother, Efren Pena and sister-in-law Christy Pena of Capitan, New Mexico; brother, Raymond Pena of Columbus, Georgia; brother, Thomas Pena of Arlington, Texas; sister, Lorena Kenjalo of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister, Frances Northcutt and brother-in-law Darryl Northcutt of Groves, Texas, seven nephews and ten nieces. Teresa spent 23 years working for the El Paso Independent School District at Collins Elementary School in northeast El Paso . Teresa was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her two young grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast on Sunday, June 26th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Services will be Monday, June 27th at 12:00 pm, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 5510 Hondo Pass with Interment immediately following at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her sons, David Windell and Daniel Windell; her “adopted” son, William Savage; her brother-in-law, Darryl Northcutt, her nephew, Michael Pena; and her brother, Alberto Pena.
