Sydney (Syd) Dictor, 83, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at his home in El Paso. Syd was born in Philadelphia and moved to El Paso in 1968. Syd was administrator of the Jewish Family and Children’s Service prior to retiring in 1990. His interests included running, folk dancing, singing; he played guitar and harmonica. He used his talents to serve the community and entertain his friends. Syd valued his many friendships. Syd is survived by his wife Rona Stein Dictor, step-son Mike Borschow, step-daughter Ellen Shaikun, her husband Arnold and daughters Nikki and Jamie, and step-son James Borschow and his daughter Meredith. Syd is also survived by his sister Bette Gross and three nephews and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Charlene and Marvin Abrams. Services will be held at the grave site on Monday afternoon, October 15, at 1:00 PM and the Temple Mount Sinai Cemetery at 3911 Gateway Blvd W. El Paso TX 79930. Donations may be made to Animal Rescue, Temple Mount Sinai, Hospice or to the charity of your choice. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
