Throughout her life, Susie Perkins demonstrated that she was a woman of unrelenting faith and admirable strength. She loved her Lord, family, and church with the resolve of a warrior and the purity of a child. Susie had valiantly combated a three-year battle with cancer, but succumbed to pneumonia on December 25. Widowed by her husband, Frederick Perkins, Susie is survived and remembered by Bob Orts, son-John, daughter-Nancy, and grandsons-John, Joshua, and Jordan. Sincere gratitude goes to the First Korean Baptist Church of El Paso who gives limitless encouragement and love, Angel Flights-South Central who generously flew Susie to Houston every two weeks for treatments, MD Anderson for innovative care, Sierra Med Center’s ICU and Oncology departments for their compassion, and to her doctors who helped Susie gain over three years of victories against her illness. Special gratefulness goes to long-time family friend, Bob Orts, who gladly assisted Susie through her most challenging times and with whom, Susie enjoyed innumerable triumphs in life. We will forever revere Susie’s courageous spirit that would not allow cancer to compromise her faith or love in all things good. Visitation is from 5-8:00 pm, Dec. 29, at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Service is Dec. 30, 12:30pm, at the First Korean Baptist Church, 9898 Taj Mahal.
