Susan Maresca Preslar brought life and warmth to every space she entered. An exceptionally loving wife, mom, and friend, she built a powerful family around her. She first met her husband Rob on a high school band trip. Fate reunited them in college, and they embarked on over 40 years of love, laughter, and adventure together. Susan loved being a mom, and she didn't stop at her own children. Many stray animals and humans found their way to her and were instantly swept into love, support, and belonging. In her classroom she balanced empowering special needs kids and sharing laughs with coworkers who quickly became lifelong friends. Susan loved music, art, nature, and gardening. She was ever an advocate for people and place, and believed in our power to create change. She was essential in the battle to "Save Lost Dog" and preserved 1,100 acres of local desert and trails. Susan retired from teaching and spent the past ten years traveling with Rob. They camped in beautiful places and always had their trailer set up in time for happy hour and the sunset. They loved good music, exploring nature, and their time together. Susan is joining her parents (Joe and Mary), brother (Steve), and many good friends and dogs. She awaits her husband (Rob), brother (Chuck), children (Sarah and Kelsey), and dog (Franki). Until then, all who love her can find her in glorious sunsets, a cool breeze around a campfire, and in the final notes of a good song.
