Sun Tuk Coffman

September 20, 1955 — December 10, 2024

El Paso

Sun Tuk Coffman passed from her earthly body to join with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in glory on December 10, 2024.

Sun was born in Masan, South Korea September 20, 1955.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, an older sister and two older brothers. She was the last child of ten children born to her parents. However, due to the harsh conditions in Korea at the time, not all her siblings survived past an early age. She is survived by two sisters and several nieces and nephews who are in Korea. In 1976 she met Dennis Coffman, who was serving in the military in Korea at the time. They were introduced by a common friend and began dating. It was not until Dennis returned to the United States that they decided to get married. He proposed to her by letter. Sun came to the U.S. in May of 1977, and they were married on the 18th of May.

They have one daughter, Andrea Maria, who was born in 1978 when hey were first stationed as a family in Korea.

They spent half of their married life in the military while Dennis was serving in the U.S. Army. They traveled together to many foreign countries and enjoyed taking advantage of that time by visiting many exciting places. In 1984 she attended Cosmetology School and became a licensed cosmetologist. She enjoyed that type of work very much.

She was a very strong Christian having received the Lord in June of 1977, shortly after coming to the U.S. She was a very active member of many churches as they travelled around the world. Until her passing, she was an active member of Sun Valley Baptist Church here in El Paso; where she supported her husband as he preformed several different roles in the church and at Northeast Christian Academy.

She shared the Gospel Truth wherever she went to one and all. Her faithfulness, dedication and love for all will be a lasting memory for all those who had the blessing of knowing her and she will be greatly missed by all. If we have the trust in Jesus Christ, that same trust she had, we will see her again in Glory.
