With deep sadness and heartfelt compassion, we announce the passing of Sterling Samuel Hardy, 21, of El Paso, Texas. Sterling left us unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and irreplaceable memories. Born to Levi Owen Hardy and Amy Jo Cavness, Sterling was a shining light in the lives of those who knew him, radiating curiosity and joy in everything he did.
Sterling married his soul mate, Madison Lee Hardy, and together they built a beautiful family full of love. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, Madison, and their precious son, Rain. Sterling was a devoted husband and father who found pure joy in their laughter, conversations, and shared adventures, whether it was a day out exploring the world or simply enjoying quiet time at home. His greatest pride was in the family they built together, a reflection of his love and dedication.
Sterling is survived by his loving wife, Madison Hardy, their beautiful son, Rain Hardy, his father Levi Hardy, his mother Amy Cavness Hardy, and his sister, Summer Hardy. His in-laws~ Robert and Chrisinda Treadwell, and brother-in-law Drew Treadwell. His aunts and uncles, starting with~ April Cavness and Rick Munoz, Buddy and Kristen Cavness, Pat Cavness, Keeton Hardy, Dale Hardy, and Robert Adams. His cousins, starting with~ Seth and Cole Torres, Owen Cavness, Mason and Madison Cavness, Ty, Evelyn, and Amoris Hardy, Troy and Abby Hardy, Kylee Hardy, Travis, Alex, and Mila Hardy, and Caden and Rylie Adams. His grandparents~ Pops and Dara Cavness, and Phil and Carolyn Hardy.
He is also survived by friends who were like family to him, including~ Zach and Emily Pence, Chris Bryant, Frank Sosa, Bud and Tristan Reno, and Henry Solomon.
As a new man of faith, Sterling believed in Jesus Christ and found comfort in the promise of eternal life in Heaven. His dreams were vast, from traveling the world to becoming a diesel mechanic, all driven by his adventurous spirit and deep love for his family. He took joy in the simple moments, like enjoying a glass of milk—or the entire carton—and engaging in conversations filled with wonder, imagination, and pure openness.
Sterling also had a special bond with his pets—three cats, Arthur, Kevin, and Harry, and his dog Monroe—whom he loved as part of his family.
Sterling will be remembered for his faith, his kind heart, and the love he freely gave to those around him. Though his time with us was far too short, his soul will continue to shine brightly in Heaven. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We love you to the moon and back, Sterling.
