Recognized El Paso artist Stephen Adams Edwards, 68, passed away on November 23, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 24, 1942, in El Paso, TX to Lillie Mae and Clarence Edwards. A graduate of UTEP, he was a student of fine arts under Dr. Robert Massey and subsequently taught art education for many years in Texas and New Mexico, primarily at Gadsden High School. Additionally, Steve was a renowned artist throughout the southwest. He is survived by his sister, Ann Ayres, brother-in-law, Jim Ayres, nieces and their husbands, Susan Ayres and David Orr, Allyson Wolfe and Matthew Wolfe, great nieces and nephews, Daniel, Katie, and Benjamin Orr and by many beloved cousins, students, and friends. Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or foundation of your choice. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
