Stella P. Rasp

Stella Poulos Rasp, 77, passed away on December 14, 2006 at her home in El Paso, Texas. Born in Alexandria, VA and reared at Greensboro, NC. Proud graduate of Greensboro Senior HS in 1947. Mrs. Rasp was a member of the Skalchunes family, one of the first Greek families to settle in Greensboro in the early 1900’s. Received her R.N. education at NMSU and worked in El Paso hospitals. Preceded in death by her husband SFC Oliver Asphy Rasp, US Army retired of Villa Rica, GA, her son Peter John Rasp, mother Mary Skalchunes Poulos of Greensboro, father Peter J. Popoulakos of Alexandria, VA and her grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Peter J. Skalchunes. She is survived by: her daughter, Elaine Troyer and family of Enid, OK; sister, Evangelea Summer and family of Fairfax, VA , brother, James P. Popoulakos and family of Alexandria, VA; cousins: Peter J. Skalchunes and family of Clemmons, NC, Nicholas Scalos and family of Greensboro, NC; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews in Villa Rica, Georgia and Virginia. No funeral is planned per her request. Interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso, Texas. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
