CSM(R) Stanley A. Brown, Age 93, died Tuesday at WBAMC. He grew up in Brewer, Maine until joining the US Army in 1943.
Stan was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Adeliene (Angie); his brother, Kenny Browne; his son Roger Siefert and granddaughter, Melissa. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Tallman; his children, Lois Balin, Richard Siefert, Ronald Brown and Sherrie Brown; 9 Grandchildren and 17 great-Grandchildren.
CSM(R) Brown is a veteran of WWII, Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He served with distinction in the US Army for 30 years. He was awarded the Silver Star during the Korean War. After his Task Force was cut off and surrounded by a large enemy force, for two days he constantly exposed himself to intense enemy fire, with utter disregard for his personal safety in order to treat and rescue wounded men who were in positions exposed to the enemy. He was a humble man; a hero to his family, friends and country.
He served in the Civil Service at WBAMC for 20 years, was a member of the American Legion, and a lifetime member of VFW Lodge #8919.
