Sophie Briley

Sophie D. Briley, age 85, was born December 30, 1923. She passed away Tuesday in her home after a lengthy illness. Sophie was a retired military wife and homemaker. She also was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic church, Ft. Bliss. Sophie dedicated her life to her family and her church. She also really enjoyed music. She was very loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Briley and son, Ronald Briley. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Andrews; granddaughters, Kim Jobe, Rhonda Hunter, Sonya Valdespino, Shannon Solem; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Rose Davis; and brother, Arnold Kemper. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm, Sunday, April 26th 2009 with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am, Monday, April 27, 2009 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church (Chapel #2) Fort Bliss, TX. Interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery.
