Sonya was born Wichita, Kansas November 16, 1982 and was raised by Sandra L. Daniel in Lawton, OK where she grew up and attended school. Sonya graduated from Eisenhower High School (2010 GO EAGLES!)
Upon completion of High School Sonya worked several jobs, later she decided she wanted to see, travel, and conquer the world, joining the United States Air Force Reserve. Sonya received her basic training and advance training at San Antonio and Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas. Sonya received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Transportation and Logistics Management from American Public University System.
Upon completion of all her mandatory training she was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. Sonya decided she wanted a family now that all her military classes were finished- a very precious beautiful little girl Saniyah was born in July 30, 2009 - in Lawton, Oklahoma. Sonya continued to serve her country in the reserve capacity. Still traveling and seeing the world, Sonya trained in California, Florida, Nevada, and Hawaii.
Sonya met and married Marcus Jackson while stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. They later transferred to El Paso, Texas, where Sonya had a little boy Makai. Sonya still had the traveling fever and, continued to travel around the Texas and Mexico areas of interest. Marcus was transferred to Korea for a short time leaving his family behind in El Paso. After completing his tour in Korea, the family transferred to Germany. Sonya continued her quest to travel the world, traveling to Germany and France where she thoroughly enjoyed the sights and customs. Every placed she toured, she brought a little something back as a keepsake for herself, family, and friends.
Visitation will take place at 12:00 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2023 following a Funeral Service at 1:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. A Committal Service will follow at 2:30 pm on Thursday June 15, 2023 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson.
