Soledad Barrera

Soledad R. Barrera, 84, passed away on August 17, 2011 at her home. She was born on July 1, 1927 in El Paso, TX. On August 19, 1950, Soledad (Mona) married Norberto Barrera, with whom she would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on August 19, 2011. She is also survived by her daughter, Julieta Barrera; as well as 6 nephews; 2 Godsons; and 2 nieces who were like her daughters, Aurora Villarreal and Yolanda V. Zajemski. Other survivors in7clude their children and spouses. The family sincerely thanks Dr. Gabriela Hunko for her compassionate care and CIMA Hospice. Soledad was cared for by her caretakers and companions round-the-clock: Concepcion Anaya; Gloria Cardiel; Susana Garcia; Marina Mendoza; Abigail Ruiz; Sandy Ruiz; Ma. del Refugio "Cuca" Sanchez; Perla Sanchez; and Eva Valenzuela. We are grateful for your tender care. Pallbearers: Edward C. Dickens; William Fidler; Seth Howards; Joe E. Zajemski. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7pm, Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. A Scripture Service will be held at 9am, Monday, August 22, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Amor Eterno.....You are our angel.
