Sofia Lopez

Sofia Lopez, 79, a long time resident of El Paso passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008. Born in Rosario, Durango to Francisco and Eugenia Duran. She will be remembered for her faith, perseverance, compassion and sense of humor. A woman after God’s own heart, who offered all she owned including her home, which served as a haven for many. She is survived by sons, Pedro, Victor and Carlos Lopez; daughters, Sofia Duran, Emma Marquez, Edna Alvarado, Sue Lopez, Laura Baca, Bertha Lopez, and Lupe Hernandez; brothers, Francisco Duran Jr. and Antonio Duran and sisters, Praxedis Dollarhide and Ana Maria Duran; 29 grandchildren; 18 Great grandkids. She will be greatly missed. Visitation: 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Monday, May 26, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home-West with a prayer service at 7:00 pm.
