Simona Urrutia

Simona M. Urrutia went home with the Lord, Friday, March 9, 2010 at the age of 72. She reunites with her soul mate, the late Louis Urrutia and her son, Reynaldo Urrutia. She is survived by her seven sisters, her brother, her son’s Eduardo Urrutia, Leonardo Urrutia, her daughters Elvia Rubio, Edna Urrutia, her 9 grandchildren, and her 5 great grand children. Simona was a faithful servant, a prayer warrior, and a soldier of God. She was actively involved in her church and invested her summers in hosting vacation bible schools for the local neighborhood children. Most importantly, she lived life-loving God and set the example of how to be a Christian. She enjoyed knocking on doors and inviting people to church and singing specials every Sunday. Abuelita, were going to miss your singing, your contagious smile, your affection, and more importantly, your cooking. Thank you for showing us how to live for God. We are going to miss you in the flesh, but what hope we have to know that we will reunite with you and our beloved ones, one day in Heaven. You lived a joy-filled life and the ministry you left behind will echo an eternity. Words cannot describe how blessed we were to have you in our lives. The viewing will be held at Sunset Funeral Homes East, 750 N. Carolina on Sunday, April 11 from 4:00-9:00pm. The Prayer Service will be at 6:00 pm, Sunday, April 11. The funeral service will be at 9:30 am Monday, April 12, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Homes-East, and the interment at 11:00 am Monday, April 12, 2010 at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
