El Paso

Sidney Richard Kozerinsky “Ski”  passed away peacefully at his home, where he especially  wanted to be next to his wife Karin of 66 years on May 10th , 2024 at the age of 87.   He served in the United States Army and then went on to work for Civil Service at White Sands Missile range. He was also known to many in the El Paso Community as “Ski” running Sun City Officials Association.  He loved to officiate football, basketball, and baseball.

Ski is survived by his wife Karin, Shirley & John Motta, daughter and son-in law, Carrol & Tom Adams, daughter and son-in law, Mitch & Margie Kozerinsky, son and daughter in-law. Grandchildren, Nikki, Karin, William, Jason, Mikal, & 9 great grandchildren.

Most grateful to Sara Adams, granddaughter- in-law in facilitating exceptional care at Las Palmas Medical Center. And to Dr. Michael Annabi who always brought a smile to Ski’s face.

Tribute from Nikki Lynn Barrett, first born grandchild.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that on Friday May 10th , my family lost a great man. Sidney Richard Kozerinsky was a beloved husband, and our Opa. To some he was also called Sky (pronounced Ski) He was married to my Oma, Karin Kozerinsky, for 66 years as of April 19th. Opa left a mark on many people's lives and we will always remember him. At least he is no longer suffering and is in peace. But his wife, his children, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren will miss him.

I have been here to visit several times in the last few years and was fortunate enough to meet his caregivers—Leonor, Christine, & Chantel and I am forever grateful for everyone who was here to help during the health journey when he needed them the most.

Rest easy, Opa. You've earned it. I love you.
