Shirley Edna Ross

Shirley Edna Ross, 70, went on to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, August 8, 2018. Shirley was born in Rotan, Texas February 6, 1948. Shirley would later marry the love of her life on December 2, 1973. Shirley loved and served the Lord and her Church where she was a member since 1981. Shirley always had a passion for kids and exercised this passion as a Junior Church Teacher, Sunday school teacher, nursery volunteer at Sun Valley Baptist Church, and as the temporary head coach of the girls volleyball team at Northeast Christian Academy. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Sabra Inez Wood, Morris Otis Guthery; and brother, Morris Robert “Sonny” Guthery. She leaves behind her husband of 44 years Timothy Paul Ross; sisters: Myrna Inez Wright, Lola Loretta Broadstreet, and brother, Joe Guthery; daughters, Deborah Phillips of Brownfield, Texas and Brenda Ross Pinkston and Husband James “Jim” Pinkston of Henderson, Nevada and son, Joseph Gordon Ross and wife Tami Ross of Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania. Shirley also leaves behind 9 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren which were, without a doubt, the joy of her life. Shirley’s strongest desire in life was to see her family came to know and serve the Lord. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Graveside Service will begin at 10:00am on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 8700 North Dyer. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 11:00am at Sun Valley Baptist Church, 9901 McCombs. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Shirley’s memory to Sun Valley Baptist Church.
