Shirley Kelley

Shirley Kelley, 82, of El Paso, was called to heaven to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 18, 2021. She was born on September 20, 1939 daughter of Eddie and Tecora Gist and raised by her grandparents Rev. Almanis Sr .and Rachel Herndon. She was married for 21 years to Jessie L. Kelley Sr, and is survived daughters: Suzette Kelley-El Paso TX, Charlotte Kelley¬ El Paso, TX, and son Alphonso Kelley (Maria) -San Antonio TX. Sisters: Rachel Herndon Johnson (deceased), Eddie Mae Gist, Lori Watson, Janet Gist; and brother James Gist. Grandchildren: Tiffany Kelley -El Paso, Ken-Lee Wah - San Antonio TX, Bernard Wah -San Antonio TX, Christopher M. Kelley- San Antonio, TX and M. Denise Perry-Dallas, TX and a plethora of nieces and nephews, and 16 great- grandchildren. El Paso was her residence for over 55 years retiring from Ft. Bliss Childcare Development Center after 35 years of service. Sister Kelley was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 50 years and a lifetime member of the Non-Commissioned Officers Wives Club. She was a soft spoken kind caring soul who touched so many. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a Prayer Service at 6:00pm on Thursday, December 02, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Funeral Service will be at 12:00pm mountain standard time on Friday, December 03, 2021 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 3400 Wyoming Avenue at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 220 Austin ST Spartanburg, SC 29301. Mrs. Kelley will be buried at a later date at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, Spartanburg, South Carolina. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
