Shelita M. Williams

Shelita Maribeth Williams, beloved daughter of Juanita Richards and the late Shelton A. Lucas was born on February 1, 1951 and departed this life on July 21, 2010. Shelita was born in Baltimore, Maryland. As a young child she lived in Baltimore until moving to Europe at the age of 8. After spending a few years in Europe the family later moved to El Paso, Texas. She attended Hacienda and Logan Elementary School both located at Fort Bliss. She also attended Ascarate Elementary. In 1969 she graduated from Jefferson High School . She attended El Paso Community College (EPCC) and The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). She was first employed at R.E. Thomason General Hospital which is now known as University Medical Center of El Paso. She later worked at Providence Memorial and Sun Towers Hospital currently known as Las Palmas Hospital. In 2009, Shelita became a member of New Hope Faith Center “Real Touch” Ministries, Church of God In Christ. She is remembered as a strong, devoted daughter and mother. She was always willing to lend help and support to anyone, even perfect strangers. Shelita has always desired to pursue a career in the Culinary Arts Field. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, drawing and writing poetry. Shelita leaves to morn her mother Juanita Richards, a brother, Delano Richards, Three daughters, Nicole Merity, Noel Tillman and Michelle Evans. A son-in-law Antonio Tillman and children, Antonio, Dajon and Veronica Tillman. A niece, Dionne Richards and a nephew Drew Richards. As well as many other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Shelton Lucas, her husband Leonard C. Williams and a brother, Alonzo Richards.
