Sergio Raul Martinez

It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Sergio Raul Martinez. Sergio passed surrounded by his family on September 18th, 2024 at the age of 60.

Sergio graduated from Coronado High School in 1983. After high school Sergio started his career at the Culinary Institute of America in New York State. Sergio pursued his dream of owning his own restaurant and went on to work in the restaurant industry for the next 30 years. 

Sergio will always be know for his kind heart and sense of humor. If you were blessed to have known him you would know that Sergio was a loyal and true friend. He was a protector of the people he loved, and enjoyed making people smile with his many life stories. Sergio cared deeply for his many dogs through out the years and loved them unconditionally.

Sergio is preceded in death by his grandmother, Aura “Nano” Theiler, and his brother-in-law, Chris Farver. He is survived by his parents: Hector and Mirta Martinez, His siblings: Gabriela Farver, Michelle James (Eric), and Laura Kopytkiewicz, and his nieces and nephew: Danielle Roessler (Blake), Kaily Ghilea (Alex), Nicole James, Megan Kopytkiewicz, Alyssa James, Austin Farver, and Sydney Farver, and cousin: Matias Brusco (Jazmine).

Funeral Services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home (www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net), 480 Resler Dr, El Paso, TX 79912 on Saturday, September 28th. A visitation will be held at 11:00 am to 11:30 am with a Celebration of Life to commence at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Amigo Kidney Foundation (amigokidneyfoundation.org) 1150 E. Cliff Drive, Suite 1A, El Paso, Texas 79912. 

Sergio will be missed by all who knew him. As we struggle with the loss of his physical presence, we find comfort in knowing that his memory will always live in our hearts.
