Sara Gafare Rodriguez

Sara Gafare Rodriguez was born March 16, 1930 in Rosales, Chih. Mexico to Pedro Gafare and Maria Chavez. She lived in El Paso for nearly 50 Years and was a long time member of Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church. On May 17, 2013, Sara was peacefully called to Heaven. She was preceded in death by her husband Alejandro Rodriguez; and siblings: Pedro, Ofelia, Rosalio, and Juan Gafare. Sara was survived by her brother, Roberto Antonio Gafare; children: Sarah Garcia (Jim), Veronica Mendoza (Charlie), and Alex Rodriguez. She was adored by her grandchildren: Jeanette Lozano, Amanda and Sydney Mendoza, Kaitie and Ethan Garcia; and great grandson, Aiden Presley Fears. Because her heart overflowed with love, generosity and compassion, she accepted a role of Grandma for Erin Castillo, Miguel Angel Tonche, and Alex Fears. Sara represented unconditional love, strength, and unwavering faith. She will always be loved, and never forgotten. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m., with a Vigil to begin at 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 20, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. A Funeral Mass will be said at (Time Pending), Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church, 4700 Delta. Interment will be Private. Services are entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home East.
