Sara L. Carrillo

Sara L. Carrillo, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 13th, 2017. Sara was born in Juarez, Mexico on July 31st, 1942. She graduated from Bowie High School in 1961. While in high school, Sara was a member of the ROTC and enjoyed cheerleading. She graduated with honors and was the school valedictorian. Sara worked as a bookkeeper after graduation and later married Lorenzo Carrillo in August of 1962. Sara’s home was the center of many family gatherings and filled with her beautiful arts and crafts. Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Santiago Lopez and Hortencia Benavente, and brother Jorge Lopez. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lorenzo, daughter; Christina Carrillo, son; David Carrillo, sister; Raquel Aguirre and brother; Raphael Lopez. Sara has two grandchildren; Richard Alexander Pena and Jose Antonio Carrillo. Visitation and Prayer service will be held for Sara on Thursday, April 20th from 5:00 pm to 9:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home -Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral service will be held on April 21st at 10:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home- Northeast. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
