Sara A. Almanza

Sara A. Almanza, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in El Paso , TX on February 21, 2007. She was born in Satevo , Chihuahua , Mexico on September 13, 1930 and, along with her late husband, Jesus, had made El Paso her home over 60 years ago. As a military wife, she also had the opportunity to live in many parts of the United States, raising five children along the way with strength and courage. Sara remained active in her later years, attending El Paso Community College and participating in the dance troupe at her local senior center. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus M. Almanza, and daughter, Maria Elena Lewis. She is survived by sons, Arthur and wife, Leticia, Jesus Jr. (Jesse) and wife Mary, Manuel and wife Tracy; daughter, Melissa Almanza; three grandchildren, Ryan Almanza, Jessica Winslow and Christy Slocum. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 pm, Monday, February 26, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Vigil/Rosary service at 7:00 pm, Monday at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
