Santiago Cordero, Jr. Nov 27, 1941 - Nov 6, 2008 Santiago Cordero, Jr. , 66, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on November 6, 2008 in a local hospital. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 - 1967. Mr. Cordero retired from the City of El Paso after 20 years of service. Santiago was known as “Jimmy” or “Jimbo” and was a #1 Dallas Cowboy Fan. Survived by his loving wife and best friend of 41 years, Guadalupe Cordero. Sons: Robert (Dora) Serrano, Fernando (Irma) Serrano, Michael (Cassandra) Serrano, and Santiago Cordero III; daughters: Michelle R. Villescas-Cordero, and Jeanette (Robert Lopez) Cordero. 16 Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Grandchildren. Visitation from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm and Vigil/Rosary at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Homes–Northeast. Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Pallbearers are Roberto Lopez, Robert Serrano, Fernando Serrano, Michael Serrano, Jon Pierre Cordero, and Leonardo Sierra. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
