Samuel Vasquez, 63, passed away peacefully in Arlington, TX on May 30, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Samuel was a lifelong resident of El Paso and a member of the Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Vasquez Sr.; mother, Isabel M. Vasquez; sisters, Aida Duran and Bonnie Fuentes; and brother; Hector Vasquez. He is survived by his wife of 46 years of marriage, Alicia C. Vasquez; 3 children: daughter, Cynthia Vasquez Gomez and sons: Samuel Vasquez Jr., and Michael Vasquez; daughter-in-Law Carol Vasquez; 7 grandchildren: Ashlie Gomez, Dominic Vasquez, Jessica Vasquez, Roger Gomez, Sydney Whelpdale, Brianna Vasquez, and Elissa Vasquez; sisters, Sister Virgina Mary, Emily McDonald, Adelina Ortega, Bessy Saldana, and Lilly Pedregon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Samuel dedicated his entire life to his greatest passion, his family. He showered us all with unconditional love and we were truly blessed to have shared our lives with such an amazing man. His unwavering devotion touched us all and he will be forever missed. His legacy will live on through cherished memories and those he leaves behind. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm,Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast with a 7pm Vigil. Funeral mass will be held at 10am, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
