Sam Avner

Sam Avner passed away peacefully on March 13, 2017 at the age of 92. He is preceded in death by his life partner Stella Lou Bauman, his parents Mayer and Dora Avner and his brothers, Max, Irv, and Robert Avner. He is survived by his brother Thom Avner, nieces Eileen Moore and Deanne Avner, and his nephews Malcolm, Mark and Craig Avner. An El Paso resident of over sixty years, Sam worked for The Paymaster Corporation owned the Bonded Money Order Co. with his twin brother, Robert. He also worked in commercial real estate in El Paso. Sam was an avid tennis and squash player. Graveside Service will be held on Thursday March 16,2017 at 11:00AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, West Texas Chapter. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home West.
